About me
I love to read and I love to write. My mother first breathed life into these twin loves and it is in her memory that I have committed to publishing one book every calendar year for the rest of my life - on or before the anniversary of her untimely death on 25 June.
I am a curious person. A passionate person. I love life and I love helping and caring for people to find their own pathways of possibilities. I love finding new ways, new opportunities, with others. And I love running. In September 2022, I ran my 100th marathon; an ultramarathon through the Alps over 3 unforgettable days. I love nature too. My sense of connection in life is never stronger than when I recognise my relationships with the forests and unspoiled pockets of the Jura mountains.
I am a poet, an essayist and an independent researcher, writer and occasional advisor or consultant. I am mainly playing with spaciousness, flexibility, thresholds and options to meet complexity by exploring into playful spaces and systems having the characteristics of generating and nourishing an abundance of care. Something that I refer to as opcura. I am the author of five books and contributor to multiple publications on the systemic nature of risk. I have founded and worked on several initiatives aiming at transformational and systemic change and worked for the United Nations, the European Commission and as a strategic consultant and practice leader on sustainability, climate change, international development and disaster risk management with PwC.
I hold onto the question: what would happen if we opened more safe spaces for curiosity?
